Substance. Purpose. Authenticity.
Our Story
Parliament Square Publishing began with a mother's question. Kelly Stadler spent decades as an executive in real estate and technology before stepping back to her deepest calling — raising her four children. As her kids grew into readers, she went looking, often without luck, for the kind of YA fiction she remembered loving: books with real emotional stakes, distinctive voices, and protagonists who acted their age. What she found instead was contemporary YA where the lines had quietly shifted — mature romance, casual profanity, and adult themes increasingly common in books marketed to younger teens. The gap between what those readers were ready for and what the market was offering them was wide, and growing.
So she set out to build what she couldn't find. Parliament Square Publishing — named after the fictional London prep school in her debut novel, where her protagonist finally learns what real friendship costs — was founded on a single conviction: that young readers deserve fiction with substance, purpose, and authenticity. Stories told without gratuitous content, but full of depth and stakes. Books that parents can hand to their thirteen-year-olds without first vetting every chapter. Books that offer young readers a mirror to their struggles and a compass for their character.
Independent YA fiction the way it was meant to be
Parliament Square Publishing is an independent press dedicated to YA fiction with substance, purpose, and authenticity. We publish contemporary stories that take young readers seriously — books with real emotional stakes, distinctive voices, and the kind of moral seriousness the genre was built on. Our authors write protagonists who pray, ask hard questions, and grow up in ways that feel earned. We're for readers (and the parents, librarians, and teachers who love them) who want YA the way it was meant to be: smart, generous, and age-appropriate for the actual age it's marketed to.
Editorial Standards
All Parliament Square titles are evaluated against consistent editorial standards. Our books are free of sexual content, profanity, drug or alcohol use by minors, and graphic violence. Christianity is at the heart of everything we publish. Our authors write fiction that takes young readers seriously, with the moral seriousness the genre was built on.
